As a dedicated former Division I collegiate thrower for Elon University, I recognized a disparity in the attention given to throwers compared to sprinters within the track and field community. Motivated to fix this disparity, I spearheaded the creation of "Elon Throws" - An Instagram page aimed toward elevating the profile of throwers and providing them with the recognition that they deserve.

By incorporating both lighthearted and entertaining content into our strategy, ElonThrows' visibility was successfully amplified and created a vibrant online community. The significant reach and high engagement rates, particularly among non-followers, demonstrate our ability to effectively promote the throwers and increase their visibility within the track and field community. This initiative not only celebrates the achievement of Women Throwers on Elon University's team, but contributes to a broader appreciation and understanding of the sport.

Elon Throws was more than just a social media project—it showcased the power of design and strategy in giving athletes the recognition they deserve. Through engaging visuals and a thoughtful content approach, I was able to amplify the presence of throwers, proving that design can shape narratives and build meaningful connections. This experience reinforced my ability to merge creativity with strategy, and as I continue growing as a designer, I remain passionate about using my skills to elevate overlooked voices in any field.
